This strategy can be used for reading practice. As a class, or group, have a shared experience together. This could be a field trip, an assembly, or looking at a wordless picture book. Discuss the experience as a group. Students then dictate a story to the teacher who writes it down verbatim. The teacher can read the story back to students so they can make changes, if they want. The teacher should not correct any grammar. Students then practice reading their story. The story can also be cut up so that students can practice sequencing.
