This strategy can be used to activate prior knowledge. Students are given statements which they individually record their opinions about on a sliding scale. Opinions are then discussed in partners or small groups. Papers are collected and handed back at the end of the unit. Original opinions and any changes that may have occurred throughout the unit of study are discussed again.
